Our Hibiscus began to bloom this week. Under its frame, we can see the orange Day Lily and another Hibiscus (a transplant.) Behind that, Gladiolus is preparing to bloom.

(Gladiolus: 'Peter Pears') This Glad was apparently named after the famous tenor Peter Pears. It certainly does have a lovely throat.

(Hibiscus: 'Aphrodite') Last year, I could have sworn this shrub flowered in blue, but this year it's certainly pink, so I'm guessing it's 'Aphrodite,' Rather than 'Blue Satin.' Might need to be fertilized.
